WHAT IS SO EXCITING ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We have an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled Software Project Manager to join our Global Product and Solutions team. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing the planning, design, development, and implementation of warehouse management and control software.

Dematic is delivering a state-of-the-art warehouse and logistics automation project for one of Dematic’s global blue-chip clients with a project value in the mid-billion AUD. This major project contains 80,000 sqm of automated storage and retrieval systems (conveyer, racking, robotics) and will be executed from 2024 to 2028. Dematic will deliver the automation fit-out from in-house design (mechanical, electrical, controls and software) through to installation, commissioning, testing, and final handover.

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex, large scale, IT-led real time projects including software integration. Ideally you will have demonstrated experience in Software Development Project Management within a Software Supplier, Vendor, or House, with a track record of delivering software solutions to external clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Manage the specification, design, development, testing, deployment, commissioning, go-live, customer business testing, early life support and service transition of Warehouse Control or Warehouse Management software solutions

  • Responsible for budget, quality, risk management, schedule, documentation, training, scope, and customer management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Developing customer Software Functional Specification ensuring full scope coverage in adherence to contract requirements.

  • Managing all customer interactions related to the software elements within the project scope, ensuring sustained customer engagement and satisfaction

  • Planning and forecasting all project related costs including resources, hardware and expenses working with project controller reporting.

  • Responsible for variations to the software scope ensuring they are costed and delivered to agreed schedule.

  • Produce and maintain software delivery schedule, while managing risks and issues.

  • Collaborate with the software architect to guide the development team, manage the backlog, and oversee task assignments

  • Identify opportunities for the business and take action to implement.

Tasks and Qualifications:

SETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

  • Degree: B.S. Computer Science or related field

  • Experience in delivering complex software automation projects in mission critical environments

  • Expert knowledge of project management and key artefacts e.g. planning, RAID management, budgeting and forecasting

  • An influential leader, mobilising, inspiring and guiding teams, excelling at building connections across organizational, program, and project levels

  • Skilled in promoting new ideas and services by leveraging industry knowledge and societal trends to create value for clients and broader stakeholders

  • Strong business acumen and ability to build an understanding of the business

  • Comfortable working with, presenting to, and facilitating decisions among senior stakeholders

  • Able to ask the right questions and appropriately challenge the status quo.

Highly Desireable:

  • Experience/understanding of Logistics, Supply Chain, Automation, Warehouse Management Systems, Carrier Management or eCommerce

  • Waterfall and agile (Kanban) delivery models

  • Jira and Confluence

  • Software Version Control

  • Software/Hardware setup
