Tasks and Qualifications:
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:
Review and understand sales solution requirements
Preparation of system proposals including designs, layouts, costs, schedules and technical documentation to meet submission deadlines.
Assist in developing warehouse automation layouts while considering operational flow, safety, controls and IT system requirements (e.g. WMS/WCS).
Apply standard application rules to estimate machine and conveyor performances
Sourcing information and quotations from other departments, internal product centres and external suppliers for equipment & services and to ensure all quotations are technically and commercially sound.
Ensure designs are properly optimized and all proposal cost estimates and associated inputs are accurate and competitively priced while maintaining technical integrity.
Identification of any technical project risks.
Participate in pre-sales design and costing reviews with key internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Commercial)
Support smooth and complete handover of proposals and tender submissions to engineering following project sale.
Contribute to the development & refinement of costing/estimating tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy of the costing process
Keep abreast of solutions and technologies within the organization and amongst competitors in the market
Prepare and deliver internal technical updates or presentations as required.
Other tasks as assigned by the manager
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Strong interest in system design using industry products within the Material Handling space
Tertiary qualified in any engineering related discipline
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Good time management skills
Communication skills
Analytical thinking and strong numerical skills
Commitment to meeting deadlines
Positive and enthusiastic attitude
Cooperative team player
Experience using AutoCAD, knowledge of 2D design software is of advantage
Experience using Sketchup, knowledge of 3D design software is of advantage
Experience of Python in Excel is of advantage
