JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

The Information Security Analyst will be part of the Cyber Monitoring and Defense Center (CMDC) at the Knorr-Bremse group. The responsibilities include vulnerability management, planning and implementing security projects, best practices, and tools, monitoring cyber detection solutions at the on-premises or cloud infrastructure, and Event Management (SIEM) system.

Essential Functions:

• Perform continuous cyber monitoring of the vulnerability management and SIEM services and underlying IT systems and take action to implement proper counter measure activities
• Managing and/or assisting in projects and activities to improve existing vulnerability management and/or SIEM services
• Proposing new ways how to improve our visibility to threats considering best practices and previous experience
• Capable of working on topics self-dependent and target-oriented – creativity is wanted since situations faced daily might not be documented
• Working as an advisor for other IT colleagues on a worldwide basis related to technical security topics
• After hour support required for security incidents during on-call duty after. A global schedule between CMDC members is established

Knowledge:

• Advanced knowledge in Information Technology / Operational Technology (IT/OT) Security area with a focus on Security Operating Center services broad knowledge about the whole topic is needed
• Intermediate knowledge of cloud, client-server, and network environments
• Advanced knowledge of Windows, Linux operational systems, and network protocols
• Intermediate knowledge of scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Perl)

• English on an advanced level for daily use (verbally and in writing)

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Information Security Operating Center or IT Security department
• Strong IT infrastructure background in on-premises and cloud technologies.
• Experience with Vulnerability Management tools and/or SIEM
• Experience in security testing related to vulnerabilities
• Proficiency in documentation
• Experience in managing projects

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or similar areas
• Professional certificates (e.g., ethical hacking, CISSP, CISM, CISA) are a plus
