JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Systems Engineer 3

 

Job Location: 5201 Regent Blvd., Irving, Suite 130, Texas 75063

 

Job Duties: Responsible for the design, development, analysis and test of new software based train dynamics algorithms within the LEADER product family.  This includes: providing maintenance support for existing products; developing requirements for the design of energy management/train control systems; developing interface control documents; preparing technical proposals including clause-by-clause comments to customer specifications; preparing systems documentation including requirement specifications, schematics, etc.; performing system integration; preparing system-level Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); assisting with the development of verification and validation test procedures; assisting with preparation and delivery of technical presentations to customers in support of sales; troubleshooting complex system problems and identify root cause / corrective actions; performing and participating in design reviews; preparing detailed design documentation; adhering to all NYAB development processes; interfacing with other departments as necessary; supporting all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies; adhering to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations; supporting and adhering to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions; and supporting relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

 

Minimum degree/experience required: Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related and five (5) years of experience in engineering field OR Master of Science in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related and three (3) years of experience in engineering field.

 

Required Special Skills:   Data Analysis experience using Excel, Matlab, Python, etc.; experience with Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Electrical Systems; experience with software-based control systems.  Ability to analyze field issues using log files and other information and to design and test solutions to those issues.

Travel Requirement: Domestic and international travel required 10% of the time.

 

Work from home: May work remote up to 4 days per week, subject to supervisor approval.
