Job Description

The Sr. Data Engineer will design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ELT principles and business goals. Specific duties include:

(1) Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps our business to achieve their goals

(2) Create data products for Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analyst and Data Scientist team members to improve their productivity

(3) Advise, consult, mentor and coach other data and analytic professionals on data standards and practices

(4) Cultivate a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions

(5)Lead the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and processes for analytic data engineering in order to improve our productivity as a team

(6) Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes

(7) Partner with machine learning engineers, business intelligence engineers and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.

(8) Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics.

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or Management Information Systems, and four (4) years of experience in a data science or data engineering role, or a closely related role. Must have some experience with: Data analytics with Python programming; Data science solutions using Snowflake; Database development using Hadoop, SPARK, or BigQuery; Big data development using Hive, Impala, Spark, and Kafka; Mining platform solutions using data analytics and forecast algorithms; AND Agile scrum methodology to develop and support solutions using Big Data platform.
