The Role


We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Software Vendor Specialist to join our Asset Management team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing software inventory for both Mainframe and Distributed platforms, working closely with key accounts and software publishers to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Optimization Plays at a large scale for Software Publishers.

  • Identify and present optimization opportunities to key accounts, including cost-effective license models, bundling, and hardware considerations on a global scale.

  • Collaborate with software vendors to understand changes in requirements and licensing terms.

  • Support the skill growth of the Asset Management team through training and knowledge sharing.

  • Manage relationships with main vendors, including IBM MF, IBM DSW, BMC, Broadcom, Microsoft, Oracle, and VMWare.

  • Ensure accurate asset management order processing and placement.

  • Monitor processes, data flows, and repositories to guarantee the accurate collection, handling, storage, and reporting of asset data in adherence to vendor licensing terms.

Who You Are

  • Proficiency in software licensing per publisher with a strong technical background.

  • Deep knowledge of software environments and pricing models, such as sysplex, CMP, ZNalc.

  • Understanding of bundling and cost-effective licensing strategies.

  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.

  • In-depth knowledge of inventory and discovery tools.

  • Proven experience in driving software inventory optimization strategies.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software asset management.

  • Relevant certifications in software asset management or related fields are a plus.

If you are hired, the anticipated compensation range for the position $107,600 - $258,240 is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills, and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. If this is a sales role, you may be eligible for additional incentive compensation opportunities. For non-sales roles, you may be eligible for Kyndryl’s Growth Driven Profit-Sharing plan
