ABOUT THE JOB

As Brand Business & Activation Leader for Accelerator Brands, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping the future of Matrix, Biolage and Pureology in Australia and New Zealand.

This is a broad leadership role, reporting to the Brand Director, spanning strategy, commercial performance and brand activation across three leading US professional haircare brands. You’ll lead the channel growth and activation strategy, drive business performance, manage the A&P budget, and translate global brand visions into impactful, locally relevant activation across O+O channels.

Working closely with the Brand Director, channel heads and wider brand team, you’ll connect the different parts of the business - from O+O activation, Brand Engagement and Product to Sales, Education and Operations – bring an integrated view of the marketing ecosystem and ensuring we work as one team behind clear brand priorities.

You’ll lead our Australia and New Zealand O+O Activation Managers and Brand Intern, providing direction, coaching and support while ensuring activation plans translate into strong consumer engagement and commercial results.

You’ll also lean into the wider team where needed, providing hands-on leadership across Brand Engagement and Product to solve challenges, accelerate opportunities and keep everything running smoothly to achieve growth goals.

Accelerator Brands is the new growth hub for the division and this role will help shape how three complementary US brands come together - building love brands, driving growth and unlocking new opportunities across O+O channels.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building, shaping and moving quickly – bringing start-up energy and entrepreneurial thinking, while having the agility to navigate and influence within a large corporate organisation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partnering with the Brand Director to shape and deliver the strategic direction for Matrix, Biolage and Pureology across ANZ
  • Owning and driving the business performance of the brands in ANZ, translating commercial objectives into clear priorities and action plans
  • Managing and optimizing A&P investment across the portfolio, ensuring resources are focused behind the biggest opportunities and delivering strong ROI
  • Leading brand activation strategy across O+O channels, translating global brand visions into impactful, locally relevant plans that engage pros and consumers
  • Leading and developing the O+O Activation Managers in Australia and New Zealand, connecting their day-to-day work to strategic priorities and creating an environment where the team can thrive
  • Shaping the portfolio’s channel strategy, with a strong focus on accelerating O+O growth and identifying new opportunities
  • Working closely with channel heads to ensure brand investment and activation are translating into consumer engagement, sell-out and sustainable growth
  • Translating global brand strategies into compelling, locally relevant ANZ plans, balancing long-term brand building with commercial priorities
  • Using data, consumer& market insights and commercial performance to identify opportunities, challenge the status quo and sharpen priorities
  • Acting as a strong brand guardian, protecting the distinctive positioning, equity and identity of Matrix, Biolage and Pureology while leveraging the collective strength of Accelerator Brands
  • Building strong cross-functional relationships and acting as a key connector between Accelerator Brands team and the wider division

What we're looking for

We’re looking for an experienced brand business leader who combines commercial thinking, brand building and strong people leadership. You’ll bring a strong understanding of the broader marketing ecosystem – product lifecycle, activation, advocacy, activation - and know how to connect these disciplines into one integrated brand agenda.

You’ll be comfortable moving between strategy and execution, able to see the bigger picture while getting into the detail when needed. You’ll enjoy working across multiple brands and functions and will bring energy, pace and an entrepreneurial mindset to the role.

You'll probably enjoy this role if you:

  • Have strong experience in brand management, marketing, commercial or a similar role, ideally within beauty, haircare, FMCG or a related category.
  • Have a strong commercial mindset and experience managing brand performance, budgets and investment.
  • Are comfortable working across multiple brands, channels and priorities and can quickly identify where to focus.
  • Bring a start-up mindset, with the ability to build, test, learn and move quickly.
  • Thrive in an environment that requires agility within a corporate setting, where you can shape how things are done– able to navigate complexity, influence across functions and move from strategy to action with pace.
  • Have experience leading and developing people and know how to create clarity, accountability and momentum within a team.
  • Enjoy connecting the dots across functions and bringing people together behind a common objective.
  • Are comfortable getting into the detail when required, whether that’s a business case, activation plan, product launch or commercial performance and can turn analysis into clear actions.
  • Can balance long-term brand building with short-term commercial opportunities.
  • Are naturally curious, proactive and comfortable challenging existing ways of working.
  • Bring strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across senior stakeholders and diverse teams.
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and like the idea of helping build something new rather than running an existing playbook.
