JOB SUMMARY

Product Owner is responsible for the, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of world class workplace productivity products for Marriott International associates. This key owner will focus on recommending and developing innovative and modern technical solutions with a customer-focused mindset. The Senior Product Owner builds and leverages strong partnerships across business, technology, and product leadership to implement innovative solutions within the Productivity Product technologies and other capabilities associated with MS Fabric and its components, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Viva with a vision for simplicity, automation, self-empowerment, and user experience. Overall experience in leading the development of technical solutions for the workplace leveraging productivity products previously mentioned will be critical, as well as guiding the adoption of M365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot and Copilot Studio in a secure manner for the proper user base. They will act as the product evangelist and subject matter expert and serve as the “go to leader” for timely updates to internal and, where applicable, external customers. The role participates in an agile approach via standups, planning and processes. Success in this role requires strong leadership & strategic skills coupled with an astute understanding of the modern identity landscape. Additionally, the successful candidate engages with the broader technology community and vendors to stay abreast of industry innovation that evolves the product offering and internal practices.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent experience/certification
  • 5+ years of progressive Information Technology experience that includes:
    • 3+ years of IT Product Ownership experience with a blend of technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset
    • 3+ years of technical product ownership and/or strategy experience that includes technical product road-mapping
    • 3+ years’ experience in product/software development, including design, development, implementation and maintenance
    • 2+ years developing written communications and presentations for diverse stakeholders including executives, business stakeholders and IT teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively in a matrix-managed environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and other IT teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to define technical product roadmaps and operate effectively across multiple priorities

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated success leading mid to large-scale infrastructure initiatives/transformations
  • Strong process management and problem resolution skills
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience in business systems and process planning
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand business terms
  • 3-5 years of product management experience with a geographically diverse cross functional team supporting one of the following: Power Product technologies such as Microsoft Fabric and its components, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Viva. Functional experience with Artificial Intelligence products such as M365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot and Copilot Studio
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex user and technical discussions, architectures, and dependent solutions
  • Ability to translate client asks and initiatives into digestible roadmaps, epics, use cases, and user stories
  • Project/program management experience with demonstrated understanding of project management techniques and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, SCRUM, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with user-centered design and UX principles
  • Demonstrated experience with the SAFe Agile Framework

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Core Competencies

  • Evaluates and adapts the structure of assignments and work process to best fit the needs and/or support the goal of an organization unit
  • Establish technical product roadmaps, multi-year plans, and user stories for Productivity Products within Marriott
  • Manage technical risks, remediation plans, and other security related activities
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for the delivery
  • Working with the PM, conduct periodic reviews of capabilities and emerging technologies to ensure that Marriott has the right platforms to support end user experience monitoring and remote control.
  • Collaborate with key partners and vendors to create alignment on roadmaps, use cases, capabilities, acceptance criteria, and product offerings
  • Ideate and prototype with engineering partners and vendors to deliver on the app strategy and roadmap
  • Advocate for the end user by developing a deep empathy of their needs through research, feedback, and other methods
  • Meet regularly with security, stakeholders, and other team(s) to gather work statuses, discuss obstacles, provide guidance to ensure that deliverables are met timely and within budget
  • Maintain a well-groomed product backlog of features to include refined user stories with solid technical solutions
  • Help define new product features and optimizations of existing ones, and incorporate them into product roadmaps
  • Provide clear vision and scope documentation, use cases, workflows, and wire-frames to support development
  • Coordinate with support teams for defect resolution

The salary range for this position is $83,550 to $153,175 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
