Role purpose:
The Health & Safety Associate provides HSE expertise for OW France and its projects, ensuring compliance with French health & safety legislation, company policies, and the Global H&S Management System. The Advisor will work closely with regional leaders, project teams, contractors, and employees to embed safe systems of work, deliver practical safety guidance, and continuously improve frontline safety performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Project Guidance
- Provide HSE expertise and tailored guidance to offshore wind projects across development, construction, and operations phases (required training, PPE, project-specific HSE procedures).
- Carry out regular inspections, audits, and site visits to ensure compliance with safe working practices, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
- Support the preparation and execution of O&M campaigns with competent health and safety advice.
- Monitor compliance with Ocean Winds’ Life Saving Rules and proactively address unsafe acts or conditions.
Compliance & Cross-Functional Support
- Maintain mandatory HSE documentation (DUERP, PAPRIPACT) and reporting in accordance with company requirements and ISO standards.
- Deploy and ensure implementation of OW France HSE policies applicable to all employees (e.g., drug & alcohol, PPE).
- Support training management, induction programs, and statutory compliance (e.g., fire wardens, first aiders).
- Assist employee representatives (CSE) and provide regular HSE updates and guidance to managers and supervisors.
Incident & Risk Management
- Contribute to incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Encourage the use of proactive risk identification tools (hazard reporting, behavioural safety observations, STOP cards).
- Support the development of risk assessments, method statements, and emergency preparedness arrangements with practical field input.
Communication & Engagement
- Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to foster workforce engagement and understanding.
- Share lessons learned and safety alerts from across the organization with local teams.
- Serve as a visible and approachable HSE contact for employees and contractors, promoting open reporting of concerns.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master degree in HSE management and/or industrial risk management
- Good knowledge of French H&S legislation and offshore wind/construction regulations.
- Experience in managing reporting and formal communications with employee representatives and regulatory authorities (e.g., Labour Inspectorate).
- Experience in a high‑risk industry (renewables, energy, construction, or offshore preferred).
- Familiarity with incident investigation processes and reporting tools.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong IT capability with MS Office, SharePoint, and reporting systems.
- Effective communicator, able to deliver coaching, training, and toolbox talks.
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative, with ability to engage contractors, project teams, and wider business staff.

French and English (spoken and written).
Location & Travel:
Role based in Paris, with regular travels to OW sites (Paris, Nantes, Montpellier, Port la Nouvelle).
