GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Lead Marine Coordinator is responsible for the monitoring and coordination of all offshore maritime operations, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance on BC-Wind Offshore Wind Farm in Poland. Acting as the central point of communication and control for offshore logistics, this role ensures that vessel operations, personnel transfers, and marine activities are conducted in line with project plans, regulatory requirements, and the highest safety standards.

The Marine Coordinator will work closely with the Construction Services Package Manager during the construction phase.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Participate in the preparation of the marine coordination procedures
  • Responsible for managing, supporting and filling in for the Duty MC team including rostering
  • Report to OCM and to CMS managers
  • Revise and keep these procedures up to date
  • Leading Marine Coordinator team
  • Monitor all systems for the tracking of vessels and transfer of personnel
  • Co-ordinate all project-related marine traffic between ports and the offshore sites
  • Oversee and manage the Marine Coordination Centre (MCC) including personnel, Marine Coordination System, and processes.
  • Communicate with marine traffic using VHF Radio
  • Preparation of vessel manifests
  • Maintain logging, meeting, and reporting routines as stipulated in the Marine Coordination Procedures
  • Oversee SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) management between vessels and offshore assets. coordinate SIMOPS meetings and distribute minutes so to avoid traffic/ work related conflicts of interest.
  • Co-ordinate monitoring and maintenance of navigational marking of the offshore site.
  • Monitor and communicate weather reports
  • Prepare and issue Notices to Mariners, and other such advisory notices
  • Act as initial point of contact and coordinator for offshore emergency response plans
  • Support Search and Rescue operations
  • Responsible for the recording and reporting of defects, and under performance.
  • Preparation of daily reports
  • Produce daily, weekly & monthly operational reports
  • Work with Asset/Site Managers to ensure safe daily wind farm operations
  • Lead daily marine coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate vessel traffic and personnel transfers in real-time using marine coordination software
  • Maintain and update marine coordination documentation (e.g., Marine Coordination Procedure)
  • Manage interfaces with contractors, vessel operators, port authorities, and maritime stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, project procedures, and environmental protection guidelines
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure emergency response readiness.
  • Produce monthly coordination and operations reports.
  • Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for marine coordination throughout all project phases.
  • Align marine coordination activities with overall construction management timelines.
  • Check Offshore personnel certification is correct and valid, issue crew change certification updates on a daily basis.

LANGUAGES

The project has an international team of employees, and the working language is English. Candidates is required be fluent in English both spoken and written. Polish language will be considered as advantage.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5+ years of documented experience as a Senior Marine Coordinator (or similar role).
  • Experience as Master / Skipper of CTV desirable.
  • Evidence of transferrable Control room experience from either Oil and Gas or any other relevant Occupation.
  • All current offshore certifications (preferrable).

KNOWLEDGE

  • Good knowledge of marine legislation and best industry practice.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of WTG Safety Rules and Marine Coordination software would be an advantage.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in VHF communications.
  • Experience of incident control / crisis management.
  • Ability to meet constraining deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, diligent
  • A logical, process-oriented mindset with strong technical and analytical abilities
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • The role will be based at BC-Wind Offshore Wind Farms Marine Coordination Centre in Gdynia, Poland.
  • The role may require travel to the marine facilities for vessel audits and inspections.
  • Requirement to travel for limited durations of time with short notice to other locations.
  • Right to work in Poland.
