Risk Associate

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
As a Risk Associate, you will support the project risk management function across Ocean Winds’
global renewable energy portfolio, helping to ensure that appropriate risk processes, tools and
reporting are used to support investment decisions, project development and operating asset
management.
The role will contribute to the evaluation of new investment opportunities and the optimisation
of project risk-return profiles through market, project and operational risk analysis. This includes
supporting project-specific risk registers, contingency assessments, quantitative risk analysis, and
the review of key assumptions, mitigations and contractual risk mechanisms, working closely
with Business Development, Finance, Technical, Procurement and Project Controls teams across
Europe, Korea and Australia.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• QUANTATIVE PROJECT RISK ANALYSIS - Assess project cost and construction uncertainties and
support the development of appropriate contingency estimates for investment opportunities.
Work closely with Technical, Procurement and Project Controls teams to maintain projectspecific
risk inputs, develop evidenced probability and impact ranges, and support quantitative
risk analysis where required. Ensure project risks, assumptions, contractual indexation
mechanisms and mitigation actions are appropriately reflected in valuation models, investment
cases and project decision-making.
• MARKET RISK - Quantify and assess market risk exposures across the portfolio, including power
price, raw materials, balancing, basis, profile, and volume risks. Develop and propose mitigation
strategies to ensure alignment with the company’s risk appetite and approved limits. Support
investment decision-making by integrating market risk insights into valuation models and
scenarios.
• COUNTERPARTY / CREDIT RISK - Evaluate counterparty credit risk and define collateral
requirements in coordination with Procurement and Commercial teams. Monitor and report
exposure levels, ensuring proactive risk mitigation and alignment with internal policies.
Contribute to the structuring of contractual arrangements from a risk perspective.
• ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT - Support the development and continuous enhancement of
the company’s ERM framework. Coordinate cross-functional inputs to identify, assess, and
monitor key risks across the organization. Promote a risk-aware culture across business units
and functions.
• RISK CONTROL - Monitor overall risk exposure and ensure compliance with internal risk policies
and governance frameworks. Contribute to reporting processes for senior management and
investment committees. Support continuous improvement of risk methodologies, tools, and
processes.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
At least 6 years of relevant experience in energy consulting, utilities, trading environments, or
industrial/ infrastructure companies with exposure to risk analysis, energy markets, or
construction. Proven experience in quantitative analysis and/or modelling within energy or
infrastructure sectors. Exposure to international projects or multicultural environments is a
strong advantage.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Strong understanding of electricity markets, energy regulation, and risk management
frameworks. Advanced analytical and modelling capabilities, with the ability to translate
complex data into actionable insights. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with
statistical tools and data-driven approaches (including AI applications) is a plus. Fluent in
English. Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong attention to detail.
Software: Lumivero/ Palisade @Risk, Safran, ARM, or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in risk management, engineering, finance, economics, project management, business,
energy, or another relevant discipline.
Professional qualification, or working towards one, in risk management, project management,
project controls or quantitative risk analysis would be advantageous, such as IRM, APM, PMIRMP,
AACE, CQRM or equivalent.
