GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Coordinate the stakeholder relations strategy of Ocean Winds and particularly its High Sea Wind offshore wind project in Gippsland, aligned with the permitting strategy. Lead and coordinate the creation and implementation of a local Stakeholder Engagement Plan to promote the High Sea Wind project, and its owner Ocean Winds, with all local, regional and national stakeholders relevant for the successful development of the offshore wind project. This requires a special focus on public authorities (national, regional and local), local communities, fisheries, local press, local suppliers, First Nations and environmental associations.
The position will also be the referral for communications responsibilities for the High Sea Wind project, coordinating with the Corporate Communications teams of Ocean Winds in Madrid and the project’s senior permitting manager.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Stakeholder Engagement Plan: develop and implement a comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan alongside the High Sea Wind EIA consultant for OW’s High Sea Wind offshore wind project located in Gippsland, following the permitting strategy and priorities of the project.
- Project Overview: Identifies the critical communication and stakeholder engagement aspects related to the High Sea Wind offshore wind project phases of development (including early development, post consent, during construction and post construction), by having a constant overview of the project’s fundamentals.
- First Nations Engagement: coordinate engagement with First Nations, with internal teams and external specific support.
- Stakeholder Management: Ensures stakeholders relationship management through all phases of the Project, to support project’s development, and prevent and/or resolve potential opposition that may occur related to the project’s implementation.
- Communications: Imply crafting of key messages, creating engaging content, and leveraging various communication channels to effectively reach target audiences. Responsible for monitoring and analysis of media coverage, manage crisis communications, and coordinate public relations activities for the project.
- Press Relations: participates in the development of a Media strategy and acts as the responsible for all local media relations, related to the High Sea Wind project and OW’s presence in Australia, in coordination with the Global Communications Department at OW, based in Madrid, and the project’s senior permitting manager.
- Project branding: Shape, enhance and protect the project’s image, build brand awareness, and ensure transparent and effective communication with external stakeholders.
- Local Sponsorships: identifies and assists in the coordination of local CSR related local sponsorship for the High Sea Wind project.
- Events: identifies and assists in the coordination of High Sea Wind’s presence and visibility to relevant local, regional and national events.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Bachelor or master degree in Stakeholder Engagement, Project management , Sustainability, Institutional Relations, Communications or External Affairs.
LANGUAGES
The project has an international team of employees and the working language is English.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of the Gippsland area and stakeholders is valued.
- Experience with stakeholders mapping methods and engagement strategy.
- Experience in working in Stakeholders engagement / Sustainability / Communications Department.
- Experience in Renewable Energy / Energy / Infrastructures sectors will be a plus.
