The Opportunity

The R&D Life Sciences Associate Principal Scientist is responsible for providing scientific guidance and integrating nutritional science into product development, innovation, and portfolio transformation, serving as the point person for global reporting. This role integrates consumer needs, preferences, and regional health trends to develop relevant claims and scientific communications, working closely with cross-functional teams supporting the PopCorners and Sports Drinks categories.

This position also leads the Life Sciences External Engagement strategy for Mexico and CARICAM, while strengthening GSSI activation across LATAM by fostering strategic partnerships, enhancing scientific credibility, and supporting the company’s commitment to health and wellness in the region.

Your Impact

As an R&D Life Sciences Associate Principal Scientist, your scope will include:

• Providing Life Sciences support for permissible snacks and sports drinks innovation and portfolio transformation projects in Mexico and CARICAM.

• Contributing to the development and execution of the External Engagement HCP/KOL strategy, leading deployment in Mexico and CARICAM.

• Developing integrated external plans and aligning stakeholders across key functions, including R&D, Corporate Affairs, Communications, Consumer Insights, Marketing, and Innovation.

• Translating scientific insights and consumer trends into actionable business initiatives.

• Building and strengthening external collaborations with health and nutrition stakeholders to support strategic projects.

Who Are We Looking For?

• Strong scientific foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Food Science, including regulatory knowledge; Sports Nutrition background is a plus. A Master’s degree in Science, Marketing, Business, or related fields is preferred.

• Proven experience (5–8 years) in food & beverages, sports nutrition, or pharmaceutical industries, supporting both R&D and business objectives.

• Ability to translate science into impact, applying scientific research, epidemiological data, consumer insights, and market trends to develop credible claims and guide decision-making.

• Strategic and data-driven mindset, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills to influence innovation, portfolio transformation, and nutrition communication.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with external partners and cross-functional teams, project management capabilities, and advanced English proficiency.
