ResponsibilitiesThe Opportunity
This position will be in charge of managing Cocoa & Chocolate, Nuts & Seeds, and Other Ingredient Categories within the LATAM Center of Excellence in Procurement. Spend of scope is approx. USD 200MM /year. The role is responsible for creating a strategic framework for the categories across LATAM, managing regional suppliers and ensuring sustainability roadmap.
Your Impact
As Ingredients Category Associate Manager, you will:
Develop and deploy mid- and long-term category strategies for Cocoa & Chocolate, Nuts & Seeds, and Other Ingredients across LATAM.
Build deep understanding of category cost structures, price drivers, supply markets, and key producing countries.
Analyze and interpret data from multiple internal and external sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Drive productivity and cost-efficiency initiatives across the end-to-end value chain.
Partner with local category owners to recommend sourcing alternatives considering cost, timing, quality, sustainability, and supply risk.
Enable future opportunities through market intelligence, supplier collaboration, and innovation scouting.
Contribute to PepsiCo’s Pep+ Sustainability agenda in coordination with the Global Sustainability organization.
Support business assurance by identifying and mitigating category risks (supply, price volatility, geopolitical, climate, etc.)
Who Are We Looking For?
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, Economics, Agribusiness, or related fields.
Experience
5+ years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, and/or Category Management.
Proven ownership of at least one category or spend area.
Experience explaining what is being purchased, what drives cost up/down, and what actions were taken to improve it.
Experience leading or contributing to productivity / efficiency projects with measurable business impact.
Exposure to commodities is a plus but not mandatory.
Capabilities & Skills
Strong analytical capability: able to digest large amounts of information and connect market, cost, and business insights.
Solid financial acumen, including spend analysis and cost modeling.
Ability to explain cost structures and price drivers in a clear, structured way.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Effective negotiation and influencing skills.
Curious mindset with interest in understanding how categories work and why they cost what they cost.
