Engineering Apprentice Opportunity

Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to progress your career with a strong desire to advance in engineering? We are delighted to announce that Skelmersdale has openings for Engineering Apprenticeships.

Showcasing PepsiCo’s commitment to raising the bar on talent and diversity the Apprenticeship will follow the standard four-year format where the successful candidates will be trained following the Science Industry Maintenance Technician SIMT level 3 standards. You will also have the opportunity to gain a HNC level 4 vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Work Location: Skelmersdale

College Location: Waterside Training

Salary: In year 1, the salary will be £23,387.00

What to expect:

Throughout the duration of the programme you will undertake a mix of academic training and vocational practical work with the chosen provider and onsite. At the end of this programme you will obtain the below qualifications, and if successful have the opportunity to become a fully trained Shift Technician.

Training to be Provided

Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship
Level 4 HNC Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside a team of highly skilled Engineers to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and to identify opportunities and implement solutions, to improve manufacturing efficiency, equipment reliability, and product quality, with consideration with regards to health and safety and environment
  • Work safely, with regard for your duty of care to yourself and to others who may be affected by your work
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
  • Keep others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company
  • Work with external assessor to produce workplace assessment training plans
  • Attend lectures, practical’s and visits as per training provider learning plans

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/5 (C) and above in Maths, English and a Science related subject or equivalent. Please note proof of qualifications will need to be provided
  • We are also able to offer specifically tailored learning plans for any successful candidates that come with relevant Engineering qualifications and/or evidenced-based practical skill sets i.e. NVQ’s level 3
  • Lots of enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
