We’re seeking a Data Engineer to join our PepsiCo dCommerce data engineering team. Working in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment, you’ll join a team leveraging Python, Airflow, and cloud technologies to build scalable data pipelines that support analytics, machine learning, and business applications. This role offers the opportunity to influence dCommerce strategies for globally recognized brands while contributing to a rapidly evolving data platform.
Responsibilities- Develop end-to-end ETL pipelines, including data modeling, coding, testing, scalability, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with globally distributed product and engineering teams, including product managers, data scientists, and analysts.
- Participate in architecture discussions and make decisions to improve platform performance and consistency.
- Perform peer code reviews to ensure high-quality software and data pipelines.
- Introduce new tools or practices to improve code and data quality.
- Support production pipelines through monitoring, debugging, and exception handling. Work iteratively to deliver business value quickly and efficiently.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of professional experience in Python or a similar programming language, with knowledge of engineering best practices across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, testing, and operations Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL Understanding of data warehousing concepts and practices
- Exposure to building and maintaining ETL pipelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Airflow, Kubernetes, and Docker Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure
