Overview
PepsiCo is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician & Syrup Room Assistant (Intern) to support both the Quality Department and Syrup Room operations.This internship offers hands-on experience in laboratory analysis, food safety systems, and beverage production processes, providing a strong foundation for a career in Quality, R&D, or Production Operations.
Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Operations

  • Support the execution of physical and chemical laboratory analyses.
  • Monitor laboratory programs, tools, and quality procedures.
  • Assist the Quality Control (QC) team in implementing PepsiCo sanitation protocols and Food Safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of Statistical Process Control (SPC) using control charts.
  • Support the operation and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure proper documentation of analysis results in written reports and digital databases.

2. Quality & Food Safety Support

Provide technical support for the implementation of production standards, including:

  • Quality procedures, programs, and best-practice tools.
  • HACCP procedures and daily self-monitoring control plans.
  • Maintenance of food safety documentation and compliance systems.

3. Syrup Room Assistance

Support the Syrup Room Operator in daily operational activities, including:

  • Preparing, handling, and mixing ingredients according to PepsiCo–Schweppes and PLI recipe standards.
  • Ensuring correct concentrate preparation procedures and adherence to quality guidelines.
  • Managing equipment, planning tasks, and supporting production readiness.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards during all syrup preparation processes.
Qualifications
  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of physical and microbiological sampling techniques.
  • Ability to use basic laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
  • Strong operational mindset and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork orientation and good interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Reliable, precise, and proactive approach to task execution.
  • Basic level of English (written and spoken).
