The areas of focus for this position are designed to build future leaders within our organization and groom candidates for executive leadership roles.The PepsiCo Fleet Engineering Team is a high-performing team, responsible for building strategies that guide and influence asset design, sustainability improvements, productivity, and Capital leverage. The Fleet Engineer Manager will lead the development of new technologies across a range of Class 2-8 assets that improve safety, reliability, and sustainability performance across the PepsiCo North American Fleet. This individual will work closely with Frontline Fleet Technicians, Fleet Technology and Transformation teams to incorporate automation, connectivity, and electrification into our future assets.

Responsibilities

This individual will bring strong technical skills with an engineering or automotive background and experience in the transportation industry. A successful candidate will have the ability to lead supplier discussions and help commercialize new technologies. This role will support the 1 North America Fleet organization, bridging fleet strategies across the PepsiCo organization.

  • Lead the technical design, specifications, and requirements of fleet assets
  • Partner with other Fleet COE teams to align strategic direction and equipment commercialization timelines
  • Ownership of developing field training resource materials.
  • Leverage technical competencies to provide new insights on design and optimization
  • Utilization of increased technology, data access to generate insights on asset and infrastructure performance and usage to create visibility, support decision making for end users
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and significant influence management skills with the ability to quickly gain credibility with a broad group of people – team members, cross-functional peers, and functional leadership.
  • Ensure field, stakeholder engagement and necessary training on use, function, and benefits to the introduction of our electrified fleet, including infrastructure, efficiency, and safety components
  • Partner with key internal teams and external suppliers to optimize assets for PepsiCo’s
  • Deliver key business results and build systems to sustain improvements

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $110,700 - $185,250.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Technical Degree and Experience: Relevant education and background in engineering, fleet operations, automotive, or supply chain in a large fortune 500 company.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Ability and passion for creative, out-of-the-box thinking to develop and vet solutions for the business, as well as a willingness to question the status quo and generally accepted beliefs.
  • Influencing & Communication Skills: Possess the ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbal and written, at all levels of an organization; ability to influence others and communicate in an open and honest way that quickly builds trust and respect.
  • Entrepreneurial or Business Development Mentality: Beyond fleet, candidates must exhibit experience in driving action against the supply chain to execute key initiatives.
  • Analytical Rigor & Financial Acumen: Strong financial acumen and ability to conduct in-depth analytic work.
  • Structured & Logical Thinking: Ability to define business problems and discern what is important.
  • Project Management Capabilities: The demonstrated capability to manage multiple stakeholders to high-quality output against regular deadlines.
  • Passion for the Consumer and for Consumer-Packaged Goods: An ongoing desire to make one of the world’s strongest CPG companies even stronger and experience developing growth strategies leveraging consumer insights.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Degree: BS Degree in Engineering required
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Automotive Engineering, Fleet, Transportation, or Supply Chain organization.
  • Ability to travel to field locations, vendors, and industry events up to 50%
  • Leadership – ability to develop talent and lead across complex organizations and problems and ability to deliver in ambiguous environments
  • Collaboration – ability to navigate working across PBNA and FLNA fleets, range of key stakeholders supporting strategic, transformative initiatives
  • Process and program management - ability to evaluate & optimize solutions for desired impact
  • Influence - ability to clearly communicate and win support of ideas and plans to all levels of the organization, both written and verbally, across entities
  • Strategic thinking – ability to anticipate organizational and industry considerations to outline a roadmap of future fleet
  • Vendor management and development - Ability to manage external parties to comply with PepsiCo requirements and deliver in full and on time; ability to identify and develop emerging vendors and their capabilities
  • Proven ability to manage large and complicated projects
