We’re looking for a proactive Mechanical Maintenance Technician to help keep our plant running safely and efficiently. In this role, you’ll prevent and diagnose equipment issues, carry out repairs and respond to breakdowns in a timely manner. You’ll work closely with the Shift Team Leader and Engineering Lead Team to prioritise and complete maintenance tasks.

  • Location: Wiri, Manukau
  • Rotating Alternate Weekend Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday Nights 6pm to 6am / Saturday, Sunday, Monday Dayshift 6am to 6pm
  • Position: Permanent
  • Selection Process: Formal Interview - Online Assessment - Background and Pre Employment Medical Checks – Decision

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and corrective maintenance, according to job work lists and according to agreed schedule, providing accurate feedback to the Maintenance Planner.
  • Respond to prioritised emergency breakdowns quickly and efficiently, including participation in call-out rota if required.
  • Use SAP to raise work orders, source and reserve spares, record work history, and apply correct failure codes.
  • Work closely with the Shift Team Leader and wider shift team, supporting handovers, reporting and supervising subcontractors when needed.
  • Participate in failure review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance, following all OSH procedures, wearing appropriate PPE, and actively managing risks.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Trade Certificate (current NZ EWRB Practising Licence where required).
  • FMCG or process industry experience preferred; SAP CMMS experience advantageous.
  • Competent in MS Office and general computer systems.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and quality standards.
  • Clear communicator with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Team player who is adaptable, proactive and uses initiative.
