Overview

The Transportation Digital Projects Associate Manager is responsible for leading and delivering key Transportation AOP projects and potential future CAPEX projects supporting the Transportation Technology Agenda. The role is responsible for project planning and project management, and for overseeing project updates and deliverables from cross-functional teams and third-party vendors are completed on time to meet project timelines. They are national projects led at the headquarters level, supporting the field locations. This is a role for a candidate possessing strategic thinking, analytical skills, and a proven ability to prioritize effectively; collaborates well with others; works effectively across boundaries; has a desire to be a part of a team and background knowledge of transportation and logistics operations and systems. The role will report to the Transportation Technology Director and could require on-site presence at our field locations as solutions are piloted or deployed. Travel could be up to 25-30%.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple projects at one time across multiple functions, focusing on digitizing workstreams, integrating systems, and incorporating AI
  • Act as a region owner to implement, sustain, and optimize Transportation Technology initiatives and system performance
  • Proactively identify impediments, look for pragmatic and constructive solutions, and escalate when necessary
  • Work collaboratively within the transportation function as well as with cross-functional partners in IT, Fleet, Safety, Warehouse, Service Operations, S&D performance, and third-party vendors
  • Facilitate project team meetings, including regular cadences and ad-hoc support when needed
  • Cross-team and cross-functional collaboration to collect and manage project updates and track progress toward implementation
  • Clearly and concisely communicate project status and updates across the organization
  • Manage project costs and track spend according to budgets
  • Ensure business requirements are effectively gathered and support overall solution design
  • Develop critical paths for deployments and oversee critical path completion
  • Create deployment plans and work cross-functionally to align field leaders on the critical path to deployment
  • Work with third-party vendors during design, planning, and implementation
  • Effectively influence others up, down, and across the organization to drive projects forward
  • Involved with project sustainability plans
  • Potential to manage direct reports

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $93,500 - $156,450.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of leading projects and project management experience
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Experience leading indirect teams that focus on driving for results and delivering quality projects
  • Ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple audiences, venues, and methods
  • Ability to actively listen, understand complex problems or concepts, and simplify them for critical audiences
  • Proven ability to give feedback and hold others accountable
  • Demonstrated energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to deliver valuable projects
  • A team player and strong relationship builder
  • Ability to lead and support field during project deployments
  • Ability to lead with agility and work with remotely located teams
  • Practical working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams and ability to quickly learn in-house software applications and vendor products
  • Project management certification a plus, lean six sigma certification a plus
  • Exposure to Transportation and Warehouse operations a plus
