The Sabra Engineering Team is seeking a qualified Engineer to execute capital projects at their Richmond, VA manufacturing location. These projects are essential to support both top-line and bottom-line company growth and may include but are not limited to the following:
- Capacity Projects – Execute engineering solutions to bring additional capacity to Sabra Production Facilities.
- Productivity Projects – Execute Sabra projects that create efficiency and drive operating savings. These are automation, waste reduction, equipment reliability, and environmental sustainability projects.
- Facility Projects – Execute and provide technical guidance on projects that maintain and modernize the Sabra facility. The projects are a mix ofmaintenance improvement projects, food safety, and environmental compliance.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing and developing the scope, cost, and schedule for capital projects. This role will collaborate across functions to develop and solve technical issues within the Sabra Supply Chain. Additionally, the role involves tracking, reporting, and forecasting capital associated with their projects. This person will be an SME for chosen Engineering equipment systems.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership through all phases of engineering projects related to delivering innovation technology, improved quality, cost, or reliability of existing facilities, equipment, and process systems.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals, schedule, and budget; includes leading internal resources as well as external engineering design build firms and construction contractors.
- Formulate CAPEX justification for projects and obtain business approval for capital spend.
- Effectively demonstrate technical competencies to support processing and packaging operations.
- Apply engineering principles including modeling and simulation with external vendors and consultants.
- Develop robust equipment installation and start-up plans.
- Develop capital requirements, establish operational metrics that define total productive performance, define development and commercialization schedules.
- Manage budget, schedule attainment, and achievement of project performance metrics.
- Provide timely and accurate financial forecasting of project capital and expense cash flow.
- Balance multiple project deliverables and competing priorities.
- Manage the vendor qualification, bidding, and evaluations process.
- Create capital appropriation requests (CAR’s) and purchase orders for vendors.
- Provide subject expertise in relevant fields.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $80,200 - $134,250.

- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.

- BS in Engineering
- 3-5+ years relevant experience
- Experience in Engineering and/or operations in the food industry preferred
- Experience working with GMPs, FDA Regulation, and sanitary design requirements preferred.
- Strong analytical and computer skills
- Proven ability to multi-task
- Established record of project definition and execution
- Technical curiosity
- Innovative thinking skills to drive transformational change
- Understanding of various manufacturing and material handling automation technologies and controls
- Ability to communicate to various levels of the organization
- Project management experience preferred
- Ability to travel: 20%
