Location Flexibility: this role can sit in Northern California with a preference for a Bay Area location.
ResponsibilitiesSr. Sales Manager: Bay Area/Sacramento
As a key role on the Commercial Sales team, this position reports to the Sales Director for the Northern & Central California Market. This individual will lead a group of Key Account Managers in the execution of their roles, including:
- Encouraging volume and revenue maximization in key assigned accounts by using fact-based selling methods, achieving key volume, financial and syndicated measures
- Activating local and national marketplace initiatives and promotions to build brand development and maximize brand performance
- Analyzing customer information and business trends using IRI and Nielsen to identify and expand business opportunities
- Cultivating strong customer relationships
- Leading Joint Business Planning for owned customers, coordinating with Key Account Managers to establish full year plans, key initiatives and jointly developed business targets
- Facilitating the Quarterly Business Review process for owned customers, assessing past performance, forecasting future performance and identifying necessary points of alignment
- Working closely with the Selling Operations team to improve overall customer satisfaction
- Ensuring customers are complying with PBUS contract requirements
- Supporting the Sales Director by taking on project and responsibilities which extend beyond wired customers and address needs of the entire market
- Demonstrating creative and out of the box thinking
- Displaying strong analytical and presentation skills
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $123,500 - $206,750.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

- Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 7 years sales experience with track record of success on large, complex CPG customers
- Seven years of sales experience; preferably with a consumer-packaged goods organization
- A minimum of 5 years of fact-based direct selling experience
- Previous Key Account Manager experience is preferred
- Previous customer-facing experience is preferred
- Previous people management experience is preferred
- Exceptional leadership and customer management skills
- Superior time management skills, ability to multitask, set priorities and plan
- Strong use of influencing skills to gain alignment, agreement, and commitments (internal/external)
- Strong ability to work within and be successful in a highly matrixed environment
- Strong analytical skills: ability to link strategies and objectives to develop a plan
- Excellent communication skills: ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely
- Ability to work independently, and solve problems by leveraging multiple function support
- Strong planning/organizing skills: capable of managing major projects simultaneously
- Above average finance skills in-order-to build compelling profit wins for customer and internal stakeholders
- Self-starter, ability to work independently without constant direct supervision
- Superior presentation skills, both in development of compelling stories and in presenting them at all levels within customer and internal organization
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, with frequent regional day travel.

- Must have a valid driver's license
