Manage the distribution function of a large size operation inclusive of orders and fleet management. To assist with the effective management of the distribution department
Develop and maintain optimum sales and delivery plans. Effectively maximize market share whiles ensuring the availability of products to drive customer satisfaction.
ResponsibilitiesCo-ordinates the activities of various bakeries in order to meet the Plant performance, Quality, EHS, Sustainability and Service standards required. Ensures the efficient use of manpower equipment, and materials. Participates in policy formation. The key performance areas are: 1. Enable the Division to remain competitive by optimizing plant conversion costs and production efficiencies. 2. Optimise service levels to customers. 3. Drive product quality, ensure food safety standards are met and actively driving safety standards in all units. 4. Drive Sustainability agenda at Bakeries.

A 4-year Tertiary Qualification in Food Science, Engineering or Manufacturing. At least 10 years manufacturing experience, 7 of which should be at a senior management level preferably within a Food Processing and unionized environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for the management of activities across multiple food manufacturing sites. The individual must ensure that sites deliver to forecast through the efficient use of manpower, equipment & materials while constantly seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and plant optimization. An ability to analyze and report on data is essential as is the need for strong people management skills, as they will have senior direct reports and full accountability for all plant deliverables. Strong verbal and written communication skills will be a critical in ensuring success in this role. Experience in policy formation is ideal.
The role requires an individual who is self-motivated and able to deliver autonomously. Previous experience within Food manufacturing and the management of a co-packing arrangements will be highly advantageous.
