Customs & Trade Procurement Analyst provides support to the Global CB Procurement Manager in the execution of the strategy for the procurement of global Customs Brokers. The role supports resolution of global issues related to service, commercial terms, and contract disputes from the vast network of customs brokers that support PEP by providing data, analytics, reporting, contract information in support of the negotiations. PEP spends $150-200MM + annually to procure customs brokerage services across 200+ suppliers in 60 countries. Our ability to build relationships to consolidate and optimize with the right customs brokers will create a competitive advantage for PEP. The role will also maintain contract templates and SOPS for the use of customs brokers and track/report sector / global compliance insuring minimal risk to PEP with our use of these 3rd parties for IE and provide audit, tracking, scorecarding capability for our customs broker supplier network.
Responsibilities- Support execution of contracting strategies and risk management for global customs brokers (> $100-200 MM annual spend across ~200 Brokers globally) that align with the interests of Company and complies with Company policies to deliver reliable, compliant supply at low and predictable costs.
- Collect and analyze data and information from major customs brokers to support resolution of systemic issues impacting the relationship: service, commercial terms, contract disputes
- Identify opportunities to unlock efficiencies, reduce risk and find new value drivers from our customs broker network.
- Develop, distribute and utilize C&B scorecards to ensure sustained service, performance and productivity
- Support management of global price risk and capacity in accordance with company policies, including, but not limited to tracking allocation and compliance to existing global contract rates, terms, conditions
- Research and maintain up-to-date market intelligence to inform the procurement of customs brokers globally
- Build and maintain standard, compliant contract templates and SOPs for sectors to use with customs brokers
- Maintain customs broker scorecards, and presentation materials for QBR's w/ key CBs
- Support delivery of 4% YOY productivity from Import-Export (Ocean freight, C&B charges, Assessorial charges) through cost transformation delivering ~$65 MM to PEP 2023-2025 and develop detailed plans for additional years 2026+ .
- Support end to end RFP processes as required by the strategy
- Leverage supplier capabilities that could result in tools that could be replicated across different markets
- Share and maintain approved customs broker directory for the globe
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, international business, finance
- 1-3 years in customs and trade or supply chain role
- English Fluency both written and verbal required (additional languages a plus)
- Advanced Excel and other O365 tools
- Experience working with Ariba, SAP and Power Bi (not fully required)
- Basic experience and understanding of global supply chain dynamics, particularly as it relates to customs brokers and international shipping
- Communicates persuasively to win support, minimizes or removes barriers
- Ability to work collaboratively and proactively across multi-functional, sector, and business teams
