ResponsibilitiesWhat we’re looking for:
- Lead and Support Foods, Grains, Snacks & Bakeries R & D Packaging development agenda
- Lead / Support and deliver in Plan AOP projects for South Africa Foods, Grains, Snacks & Bakeries - ACCOUNTABLE
- Lead / Support and deliver in Plan Productivity projects for South Africa Foods, Grains, Snacks & Bakeries – ACCOUNTABLE
- Lead / Support and deliver in Plan Brand Stewardship projects for South Africa Foods, Grains, Snacks & Bakeries -ACCOUNTABLE
- Support the productivity agenda for the entire packaging team, by tracking, reporting and engagements with stakeholders local & sector.
- Ensure Maintain Packaging Specification System in areas of accountability
- Scout , Develop and Drive new packaging technology partners in the regions of accountability in alliance with Global R & D , Procurement to drive business benefits to PEP - ACCOUNTABLE
- Interface with the Global Packaging colleauges and functional groups to lift and adapt in the area of responsibility - ACCOUNTABLE
- Ensure and deliver data submission from the BU R & D Packaging perspective to relevant stakeholders – ACCOUNTABLE
- Prepare SOPs and Design of Experiments for quality execution of projects in guidance with the Pkg manager as per PepsiCo requirements – ACCOUNTABLE
- Support supply chain and other business functions with packaging TBS- ACCOUNTABLE
- Ensure compliance to TSG, SFTS processes , Documentation- ACCOUNTABLE
What will qualify you for the role:
- Food Technology / Science, Consumer Science, B.Sc., B.Eng.or M.Sc. degree in material, chemical or pacakging related field with minimum 10 years in a Packaging R&D role within a Global CPG / FMCG company required
- Local and / or Global certification in Packaging
- CapePack and SAP knowledge
- In-depth understanding of packaging technology , polymer science , paper science etc
- Experience and deep technical understanding in rigid , paper board and flexible packaging.
- Demonstrated self-starter
- Effective interpersonal, Influencing and communication skills with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving and new design implementation.
- Demonstrated people management skills, coaching and support
- Demonstrated technical, analytical and project management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
- Good understanding of R&D and product development disciplines, as well as regulatory requirements is desireable.
