The Opportunity
Corporate Control North America Team is a center of excellence delivering financial services and capabilities for North America in partnership with our managed services providers. Services are provided to all PepsiCo divisions in the US and Canada. The campus is located in the Pepsi office in Mexico City.
This position is within the Strategy & Transformation Control team. It is a project accounting role. It supports the Strategy & Transformation Division through accounting, analysis, and reporting of each period’s close activities. The project accounting portfolio consists of period close activities, releasing projects for spend, Non PO temp labor payments and period amortizations for software development supporting Strategy and Transformation, Global Information Security, and Enterprise Amortization projects.
Your Impact
As Control & Reporting Accountant your functions would consist of …
- Review and prepare/process period journal entries in accordance with month end close – example: IT cross charges, prepaid amortizations, accruals etc. Ensure all spending (capital and expense) and support complies with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and PepsiCo policies.
- Provide accounting guidance to Project and Finance Managers. Review expense spend through project life cycle and contracts to make accounting recommendations as appropriate.
- Prepare Non PO payments to Temp labor vendors
- Validate and prepare projects for release during Annual Operating Plan process and Out of Plan.
- Perform project-related SOX controls for Capital Spend, Prepaid Expenses, and fixed assets.
- IT Project accounting maintenance – researching/reclassing misclassified data.
- Adhoc project requests.
Qualifications
Who Are We Looking For?
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business degree
- 2+ years of relevant accounting/financial experience
- Intermediate MS Excel
- Strong accounting knowledge/ability to understand and reconcile financial data
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and make decisions autonomously
- Effectively communicates and provides insights to cross functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP General Ledger & Project Systems
- Knowledge of PepsiCo businesses and processes
- CPC preferred/CPC candidate
