A day in the life

Join our Accounts Receivable team for a dynamic and hands-on work study experience at Prologis. In this 12-week role, you’ll play an integral role in our accounts receivable processes while gaining exposure to a global real estate company. You’ll collaborate across departments, sharpen your technical accounting skills, and contribute to meaningful projects in a supportive and fast-paced environment. This opportunity is ideal for students based in the Denver area. The 12-week program may be extended based on business needs and mutual interest. Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily cash receipt files and identify customers and charges for items not recognized by RPA, including higher-risk, time-sensitive, and non-routine exceptions.
  • Apply offsets in Yardi accurately according to policy and independently determine appropriate treatment for non-standard cash application scenarios, documenting rationale as needed.
  • Reconcile daily and monthly cash totals in Yardi to bank deposit amounts and investigate reconciling differences across lockbox activity, ACH, wires, unapplied cash, misapplied receipts, and system-interface issues.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries in PeopleSoft for receipts not posted through Yardi, assist accountants with complex lockbox bank reconciliation items, and prepare ARCs reconciliations as part of ongoing control and process improvement efforts.
  • Review AR Aging and Customer Aging reports; own and resolve complex ServiceNow tickets and exception queues; and identify unapplied cash, credits, offsets, aged items, and issues requiring timely follow-up, escalation, or broader process changes.
  • Prepare the monthly AR Tracker, assign and monitor associated tasks, follow up on open items, and help ensure deadlines, dependencies, and deliverables are completed on time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, with at least two (preferably three) years of undergraduate coursework completed.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.

  • A proactive mindset and strong sense of responsibility in delivering accurate, timely work.

  • Proficiency in Excel and an eagerness to learn new systems and tools.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks independently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate across teams and locations.

  • Capacity to learn and apply procedures consistently with minimal supervision and without daily instruction.

  • Enjoys solving problems and brings a mindset of innovation to improving processes.

  • Thinks critically and asks thoughtful questions that demonstrate understanding and drive deeper learning.

  • Communicates clearly and respectfully, whether working independently or on a team.
