What We Are Looking For


  • Perform planned and unplanned electrical maintenance on Solar PV systems, diesel generators, and power distribution equipment
  • Conduct fault finding, analysis, and repair of electrical systems to restore plant operations efficiently
  • Execute general and preventive maintenance as per maintenance schedules and job cards
  • Perform and sign off on scheduled and statutory inspections in line with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor plant performance and take corrective action to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
  • Maintain and troubleshoot inverters, transformers, switchgear, and control systems
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable legislation and standards
  • Assist with electrical installations, upgrades, and modifications within the plant
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on plant performance and faults
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and plant operating standards
  • Work in compliance with:
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Electrical Installation Regulations
  • Electrical Machinery Regulations
  • Applicable energy and grid compliance standards
  • Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy.


What Qualifications You Should Have


  • N3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • N6 Diploma/S4 National Diploma or NQF Level 6 equivalent would be advantageous.
  • Trade Test in Electrical Engineering with wireman’s licence.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a qualified Electrician.
  • Experience in power plant, solar PV, or industrial electrical maintenance would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Solar PV systems, inverters, and power generation equipment would be advantageous.
  • Experience in fault finding and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of SCADA and control systems (advantageous)
  • Code 8 driver’s license
  • Willingness to work shifts, standby, and overtime when required
