Our team members support content production and localization across multiple departments at Salesforce, using domain expertise to make or advocate for the best decisions for our users worldwide.

As a Software Engineer II for HELLO, you’ll be critical to helping us optimize our workflows and tools, and build them for areas or teams where they don’t yet exist. You will collaborate with several cross-functional groups, and with various members of our team, on technical matters that affect our stakeholders. You’ll be working on our internally-developed tools, including our translation management system. We are looking for an especially motivated individual who can execute independently on our most pressing technical problems.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Build and maintain efficient, scalable tools, with interfaces that teams can easily learn and adopt.

  • Maintain our toolkit with an eye for efficiency & increased job automation.

  • Partner to scope multi-functional work, crystallizing problem statements, and ensuring that work is executed in a way that scales.

  • Serve as an advisor to our immediate team by providing technical expertise & solutions.

  • Own the full project lifecycle, from problem discovery, through iteration & feedback, to shipping the solution.

  • Write unit tests and acceptance criteria, and debug effectively, proactively addressing issues.

  • Proactively identify opportunity areas for us to consider exploring.

  • Define success and impact metrics for projects within your purview.

  • Ensure documentation of our tooling and technical processes is up to date.

  • Participate in planning activities within and outside of our team, retrospectives, and other activities that make our team stronger.

What You Should Have

  • 2-5 years professional web development experience.

  • Experience in full-stack web development, including popular frameworks.

  • Experience integrating 3rd party APIs

  • A strong understanding of object-oriented, functional and declarative programming paradigms

  • Experience building reactive interfaces using modern Javascript frameworks.

  • A strong knowledge of devops, including popular collaboration and source control tools as well as build and release management tools.

  • A self-starter mindset, proactively identifying challenges/opportunities and working across teams to implement solutions that are durable, scalable and suit multiple use cases.

  • A growth mindset: you are curious and eager to explore diverse ideas, new opportunities and challenges.

  • Great communication skills: you are an inclusive and proactive communicator across, up, and down the work organization. You can work well with partners of varying subject areas to establish requirements and receive feedback.

  • Great collaboration skills: you are a phenomenal teammate and willing to put others first.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with internationalization and localization teams and toolsets.

  • Experience with AWS, Heroku or other cloud deployment methods.

  • Experience with a framework that implements ORM, such as Django, Laraval, SQLAlchemy, Ruby Datamapper, LINQ to SQL, etc.
