Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

The Role

We‘re hiring a Lead UX Designer for the Trailblazer Community and the Developer Site.

  • The Trailblazer Community (trailhead.salesforce.com/trailblazer-community) helps trailblazers skill up, connect to Trailblazers around the world, and give back together by sharing their knowledge, giving guidance, and building their networks.

  • The Salesforce Developer Website (developer.salesforce.com) provides comprehensive, accessible, and user-friendly documentation and resources for all Salesforce products. Empowering Trailblazers of all skill levels, we enable them to build and innovate within the Salesforce ecosystem with confidence.

You’ll craft and articulate the product UX vision, in line with clear goals and rationales – a role requiring expert visualization skills, thought leadership, empathy, and the ability to work closely with product and technology partners. You’ll immerse yourself in all aspects of end-to-end experience design, including using storyboards, journey maps, flow diagrams, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design ideas and direction. This is an opportunity to shape the user experience in ways that solve meaningful problems, design with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, and make life better for all users and customers.

You’ll join a team of talented product managers and engineers, driven by the power of design to build integrated and ethical experiences that support strong relationships for our users and their customers. Bring your skills, inspire your team, and create amazing experiences as you help us transform the way business gets done.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product owners, engineers, and user research to create a vision for the product area, contribute to roadmap planning, and facilitate the user-centered design process.

  • Communicate clear and compelling ideas to a wide range of key stakeholders, using presentations, reviews, and documentation.

  • Generate detailed final design specs that inspire accurate developer builds.

  • Serve as a bridge connecting design, product, engineering, and marketing teams

  • Oversee multiple web features, interfaces, and experiences.

  • Work with developers and quality experts to deliver a polished final product.

  • Promote and educate others on new interface guidelines and design patterns.

  • Plan, execute, and report on user research.

  • Get feedback on designs via critique with peers.

  • Create ethical and inclusive designs for all users. Encourage product and engineering management to prioritize inclusive features and bug fixes

Experience/Skills Required

  • 5-7 years of experience designing and delivering B2C products and websites from start to finish as part of a cross-functional team

  • Deep understanding of user-centered design and systems thinking. The ability to step back and see a project’s larger ecosystem, with a focus on solutions that improve not just one feature but the entire user flow.

  • Outstanding storytelling and prototyping skills to present your solutions to key partners and leadership

  • Strong communication and active listening skills, with an ability to build and develop close, trusting relationships

  • Internal compass that points toward ethics and equality, and the conviction to speak up when we veer off course

  • Experience using analytics and user research to drive decisions

  • Experience using, and contributing to, design systems

  • Experience developing software that is global in reach, universal in design, and designed for users of multiple languages and abilities

  • Expert knowledge of current design tools such as Figma, along with an ability to quickly learn new tools as they emerge

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in a design-related field, or equivalent experience
