This role :
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of application developers through project initiation, execution, and deployment. You will provide direction and coaching as part of enabling them in their career progression. You will foster an atmosphere of respect and trust while crafting a space for your team to balance the demands of work and life. You will also be responsible for effective collaboration across multi-functional teams, and will provide marketing stakeholders the world-class platform features they need to engage with website customers and visitors. In your career, you will have had a consistent record of mentorship, delivery, partnership and leadership. You will work with a group of very savvy, highly motivated software engineers. We are looking for someone with superb leadership skills, a history of working in an agile development methodology and the ability to operate within short release cycles.


Required Skills/Experience

• 6+ years of people management experience related to software engineering industry
• Experience building features on digital experience platforms or providing engineering services to marketing organizations.
• Ability to establish credibility with smart engineers quickly.
• Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills, impeccable organizational and time management skills
• Agile, dedicated, and comfortable working with ambiguous specifications and can prioritize on the fly
• Experience running Scrum processes, and have worked on a product that was actually released for public consumption
• Experience in driving quality through automation
• Compelling communicator and story-teller
• Focus on partnership and collaboration with your peers and partners
• Someone who can model the Salesforce values for their team (e.g. equality for all, respect, giving back, transparency, fun)
• Ability to take ownership of project delivery and multi-task on multiple projects/feature development
• Bachelor degree or equivalent is desired.

Desired Skills/Experience

• Experience working on a NodeJS-based application stack.
• Experience with continuous delivery models and methods
• 10+ years software development experience with a track record of delivering technically demanding projects
• Understanding of web analytics implementations, e.g. Adobe, Google, etc.
• Strong understanding of MVC concepts
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented development/design

Nice to Have Skills/Experience

• Page Builder - Experience building and operating content publishing platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager) and utilizing decoupled (or headless) architectures.
• Localization Automation - Experience building, integrating or deploying products which manage translation flows for enterprise (at scale) with translation management systems (TMS), working directly with translation agencies, or other localization products.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $176,800 to $243,100.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $192,900 to $265,200.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
