Job Details

Salesforce Business Technology is looking to hire a Wireless Network Engineer responsible for activities around implementing, maintaining, operating and troubleshooting Salesforce Wireless Networks. These highly available environments include hardware (wireless LAN controllers, routers, switches, firewalls, etc) from leading technology vendors, software, and stringent network security practices.

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 4 yrs experience working as a Network Engineer. The candidate is expected to drive continuous improvement, streamline efficiencies and enhance network scalability and security through operational excellence and integration of industry standards using cutting-edge networking technologies.

A key distinguishing requirement is understanding of RF wireless technology, wireless protocols, routing and switching fundamentals. Automation and scripting skills are highly desirable.

Experience working with project management teams, taking ownership and delivering projects into production. Strong commitment to technical and operational excellence and join cross-functional teamwork required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting end user’s wireless connectivity and environment in general

• Participate in “on-call” rota as a primary escalation contact for wireless technology.

• Support tier 2 escalation involving LAN & Wireless on Cisco platforms.

• Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.

• Accountable implementing and maintaining end to end wireless network aspects of the Salesforce Managed Offices and remote office locations

• Contribute in wireless technical design and work alongside architects and other engineers to deliver network solutions that align with company vision and growth.

• Drive and Assist in the implementation of the wireless network using automation and monitoring as first-class citizens of the design solution

• Maintain documentation for internal and external customers detailing configuration of deployed solutions.

• Develop strong relationships with all IT partners.
  

Required Skills/Experience

• B.S. in Computer/EE or similar fields. M.S. is plus

• 4+ Years experience as Network Engineer in medium to large scale enterprise.

• In Deep knowledge on RF (Radio Frequency) planning, understanding local country regulatory domains, roaming protocols, WiFi standards

• Good understanding and experience with CAPWAP, LWAPP, Encrypting protocols, Radius, QoS, AVC, multicasting

• Strong troubleshooting skills on Access Point - User link

• Working understanding of the following technologies, but not limited to AireOS, IOS XE, NCS Prime, DNAC, Cisco Spaces, 5500 and 9800 Wireless LAN Controller series

• Familiarity with the following technologies Radius/TACACS (Cisco ISE), Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPN, Palo Alto Networks.

• Understanding of the network protocol stack, including L3 and switching and IP Routing

• Experience with Ekahau Pro and working with predictive, passive and active surveys, and analyzing the data.

• Experience with Python, Ansible, git and network automation desired.

• Experience with tools Thousand Eyes, Infoblox, PagerDuty, New Relic, and wireshark.

• Strong written and communication skills

• Proven track record of successfully leading projects from conception through completion.

• Confirmed ability to multi-task in an energizing environment.

• CCNP/CWNA Wireless, Ekahau ECSE Design preferred or equivalent working experience.
