About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer for the Product UX organization, which spans product, cross-cloud, and GTM operations across the company’s platform and apps teams. The COO will establish and drive multiple work-streams across the company to accelerate our product development, GTM, and customer success efforts with UX. This individual is a seasoned operator ideally with experience working at startup speed and enterprise scale, able to translate the Chief Design Officer’s vision into high-impact results and high-performing teams. The COO will directly manage a team dedicated to team operations, project management, and some shared design functions. Most important, the COO will influence and advise executive stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Distribution, Marketing, CSG, Services, Partnerships, Security, BT, Finance and Legal leaders across the company to drive success in these key areas:

  • Successful execution of design strategies, improved team performance, and alignment with the CDO's vision for product development.

  • Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the effectiveness of cross-functional collaboration.

  • Streamlined product design processes, quick response to customer needs, and improved product designs that resonate with customers.

  • Streamlined workflows, improved project outcomes, and a culture of effective teamwork between design, engineering, and product management.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize resource allocation.

  • Oversee project and portfolio management to ensure projects align with the CDO's vision.

  • Efficient production of high-quality thought leadership content and a clear understanding of its impact on the organization.

  • Efficient talent acquisition processes, better integration of new hires, and a stronger, high-performance design team.

  • Establish processes for systematically incorporating customer feedback into design decisions.

  • Effective career development frameworks, increased employee satisfaction, and retention of top talent in partnership with Employee Success.

  • Lead communications, organization design, and change management in partnership with Employee Success.

  • Manage and execute the UX V2MOM, including accelerating achievement of milestones, quarterly reviews, and monthly operational metrics updates.

Required Skills:

  • Senior leader with executive-level skills in stakeholder management, adaptive leadership and growth mindset that align to Salesforce core values.

  • Proven track record of managing strategy and operational teams in large, matrixed organizations.

  • 15+ years experience in a combination of experience design leadership, strategy, operations, product analytics, program/project management, or consulting; utility player able to wear multiple hats and play high or play low as needed.

  • Extensive experience working directly with Executive leadership, and steering Executive alignment across multiple business units.

  • Enjoys and able to navigate challenges that are extremely complex and where solutions are unclear and need to be figured out.

  • Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple large initiatives concurrently across cross-functional teams (Design, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Product Marketing, SIs, and more).

  • Excellent and candid communicator in written and verbal form.

  • Highly motivated, execution focused, with a positive and resilient attitude.

  • Advanced Salesforce product and customer knowledge.
