Role Description
Responsibilities
In addition to being part of a tight-knit and high-performing Product team that thinks big and moves fast you will also:
Translate the product manager’s strategy into actionable tasks and works with cross-functional agile teams to execute those requirements.
Represent users in delivery teams by thoroughly understanding user needs, pain points and problem statements.
Meet with Business Stakeholders to continually build business intimacy by doing user research, interviews, user shadowing, market research, and analyzing data.
Work with delivery teams continuously to focus on work completion according to business objectives and sprint goals.
Define sprint plans, prioritizes the sprint backlog and adapt based on changing circumstances.
Break down epics to write user stories in user’s voice in the smallest possible increment, with clear acceptance criteria, according to agreed-upon conditions with the engineering team and architects.
Demonstrate new features and enhancements to business leaders and users; Incorporates feedback into future development sprints.
Shield the engineering team from distraction by acting as the main point of contact for the delivery team to the users and the business.
Define business problems with a focus on user empathy and experience to create the right solution to solve needs, not just taking orders of what the business wants the team to build. Ideally optimizes solutions to fit a wide range of business needs by consulting with the engineering team to propose solutions back to the business.
Required Skills
Analyst: 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in tech environment, in a highly analytical role or strategy department
Product / project management skills, identifying & documenting requirements and agile development
Own requirements gathering process - create product specs that clearly identify problems, opportunities, goals, and metrics as well as use cases, and product requirements that help design and engineering teams develop solutions and measure success.
Basic understanding of how relational databases work
Basic understanding of different integration patterns
Intermediate understanding of how to prioritize product features
Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross functional teams
Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

Outstanding problem solving skills: consistent track record to ask questions, structure sophisticated problems, develop solutions and recommendations
Strong communication skills to translate complex info into easily digestible insights and executive presentations
Resilient Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
Highly collaborative style with strong networking skills across business functions
Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly to new demands; sense of urgency
Experience at a start-up that has scaled from <500 to 1000
