Help customers solve technical issues with database software and services.

Are you passionate about database technology and customer satisfaction? Do you relish troubleshooting and solving complex problems while contributing to the development of the next generation of cloud software? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the cloud database support developer role at SAP.

As a cloud database support developer, you will work as part of a global team to provide technical support to customers who use SAP’s cloud database services, as well as to customers who have database software installed in their own landscapes. You will communicate with customers via ticketing system, phone, and remote sessions, and use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues, escalate critical cases, and provide feedback to development teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Make code changes affecting cloud deployments
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests regarding database software and services
  • Manage the customers experience and expectations as we work through issues
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions or workarounds
  • Document and track customer cases using SAP’s support tools and processes
  • Collaborate with other support staff, developers, and product managers to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality
  • Keep up to date with the latest database technologies and best practices

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in demanding situations
  • At least one year of experience in software support or development
  • Ability and desire to independently learn new technologies and software products
  • Strong knowledge of database concepts, SQL, and scripting languages
  • Strong coding skills in Python
  • Working knowledge of cloud concepts and technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, and Helm
  • Track record of using software development best practices
  • Exhibits excellent teamwork and customer service skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to be proactive in engaging customers and colleagues
  • Experience with Jira or ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Familiarity with SAP’s products and services
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 71,000 - 150,800 (CAD) CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount, and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
