About the Team :

SAP Cloud ERP CDX nABAP Cloud Delivery team is an integral part of CloudERP/S/4HANA Cloud Delivery unit with more than 120 people from global locations. The responsibility of nABAP Cloud delivery team is to operate applications running on BTP and on Hyperscalers as cloud native and focuses on cloud delivery topics, like DevOps, cloud operations and Security.

As a DevOps engineer for nABAP CD you will be working on core DevOps & Cloud Operations topics. You will closely collaborate with all delivery teams, product teams and other experts in our team to perform daily activities.

What you'll do:

The position offered is that of a DevOps Engineer in nABAP Cloud Delivery team in India.

The role of a DevOps Engineer constitutes the following,

• Design, develop, test and deliver container-based execution environment.
• Work on Kubernetes orchestration framework.
• Experience in Open Source Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch etc., would be good.
• Automate or optimize operations practices.
• Research and implement DevOps tools & practices fitting the ecosystem.
• Own and continuously improve our service offering.
• Ensure 24/7 service availability and service quality for all BTP and cloud native apps.
• Work on topics for the technical execution of the delivery architecture and contribute to cloud enablement efforts.
• Support the delivery roadmap and drive incubation of new technologies.
• Own and continuously improve our service offering.
• Advise project stakeholders and customers regarding DevOps-related topics throughout the product lifecycle.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, innovative, and results-oriented team players looking for next career step with a passion for Cloud Operations around the clock. This job will include shift work as well as weekend work and on-call duty.

What you bring:

• University degree (BE, MSc.) in Computer Science or a related subject or qualified IT specialist.
• Work Experience: 5 to 7 years.
• Strong expertise in Hyperscalers like AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud, and SAP Converged Cloud.
• Experience on SAP BTP and HANA desired.
• Strong expertise on containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, traffic management and similar services.
• Expertise in Operating the K8S production cluster & it's associated lifecycle activities.
• Experience on various deployment methodologies like green-blue / canary deployment etc.
• Experience on pipeline-based deployment – conversant with CI tools like Git, SVN, Jenkins etc.
• Knowledge of Linux-/Unix-server environments, Apache2 and Nginx web-servers, MySQL &/or MariaDB.
• Good DevOps knowledge for applications based on SAP BTP.
• Good working knowledge of Java, J2EE, Python, SQL, Perl, Bash and Ruby.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM development methodology.
• Ability to work independently, and desire to learn, innovate & explore new topics.
• Good communication and collaborative skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
