SAP PlusOne Network Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) focused on WAN to join our PlusOne Network - WAN Edge team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a deep understanding of network automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving technology strategy, implementing network automation solutions, and working collaboratively with a diverse team on customer connectivity topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in IaaS and IaC, with a focus on network automation.

  • Automate network infrastructure and help optimize network automation processes.

  • Stay up to date with the latest hyperscalers' technologies and understand their business potential.

  • Utilize state-of-the art IaC tools like Terraform or Pulumi to deploy, operate and maintain hyperscalers’ Network Infrastructures.

  • Build, operate and maintain Cross-Cloud and Private Cloud connectivity services.

  • Drive technology strategy by identifying and implementing innovative solutions for customer and DC connectivity.

  • Utilize OSS Monitoring and Logging solutions like ELK, Grafana and Prometheus to improve MTTR for Critical Infrastructure.

  • Collaborate effectively with a global and diverse team, including network engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders.

  • Adapt to variable working hours to cover the APJ shift (ability to work early EMEA hours to cover at least 4 hours of Singapore time zone).

  • Participate in 24/7 operations model and maintain SAP's global ISP infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or proven equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years technical experience with IaaS and IaC, specifically in network automation.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools (Git, GitHub, CI/CD Pipelines).
  • Experience with Linux OS environment including virtualized/containerized infrastructure.
  • Knowledge in at least two programming languages (preferably Golang, Python).
  • Strong understanding of the business potential of the latest hyperscalers' technologies. Related certifications are a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of wide area network protocols, including BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and data center routing and switching. Certification in Service Provider Network field is a plus.
  • Proven ability to drive technology strategy and implement innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in English, German is a plus.
  • Readiness to work early shift occasionally is a plus
