About the team

The Platform Group is one of five groups in the engineering department at SAP Signavio. We value consistency, modularity & re-usability, and simplicity. We strive for a coherent user experience across the entire product suite and an effective & efficient cross-product development experience. To this effect, our teams provide and advance:
1) the hub and framework of our product suite along with shared services, as well as 
2) fundamental building blocks such as Cloud infrastructure.

What you’ll do

Join a passionate, cross-functional team that is developing an exciting new service for our product suite. The team does user research, validates concepts, builds incrementally, and applies innovative implementation techniques to create the best possible value for our customers. 

You closely collaborate with other backend, frontend and full-stack engineers, the product designer and product owner. As a team you are responsible for end-to-end service delivery and operations (deployment, monitoring, alarming & maintenance).

As a (Senior) Backend / Full-Stack Developer (f/m/d) Value Accelerator you will:

• Contribute to the entire cycle of product development, from first ideas and brainstorming sessions to continuously delivering improvements based on customer data
• Develope end-to-end product increments in collaboration with the team
• Contribute to the extraction or inception of a new microservice
• Explore and work on serverless architectures primarily around AWS Lambda, Queues.
• Mentor less-experienced peers and be mentored by more-experienced peers
• Collaborate and work on solving challenging technical and business problems
• Follow Agile principles and values
• Rely on DevOps practices and tools

What you bring

• Previous experience within agile software development teams
• Passionate about clean code principles: executing code reviews, code inspections, test driven development, unit testing, and other quality related tasks
• In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming in general and in Java or Typescript and Node.js
• Hands-on experience with Postgres or MySQL database is a plus
• Demonstrated experience of safely and efficiently refactoring larger pieces of code 
• First experience with DevOps technologies such as AWS, Docker, CircleCI and Kubernetes (K8s) is a plus
• Experience with microservice or serverless architecture is a plus
• Enjoy pair programming or are keen on trying it out
• Experience working in cross-functional teams relying on agile methodologies
• You are a strong team player with the ability to work within a team’s structure and constraints
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written
