Purpose and Objective:

Ariba, Inc. seeks a Product Specialist at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for cross functions of suite-wide procure-to-pay applications with focus on cross procurement analytics, integration, and opportunities.

Expectations and Tasks:

Manage Product Features and write FRDs. Collaborate closely with engineering and solution management teams on Scrum calls and evaluate technical features and requirements. Cooperate with customers and drive/contribute towards co-innovation projects to continuously improve the solution with the goal of a sustainable long-term customer success. Shape, drive, and communicate the strategy and owns the product roadmap. Create and prioritize the product backlog by gathering market and customer insights and translating these into product requirements. Deliver products that meet market and customer needs, by focusing on defined end-to-end processes and priorities across all functional areas and lines of business. Work with engineering to gather requirements and estimates. Plan out estimates. Design feature roadmap. Use problem-solving and analytical skills, including gathering data and structuring it. Gathering requirements and understanding how they should be translated to product functionality. Take ownership of customer requests and convert them into technical product solutions from concept through design phase and final delivery. Engage with customers and other stakeholders at all stages of technical product lifecycle to ensure the development of the right feature for the right market segment. Provide status reports and engage in steering committee meetings. Drive technical product features to GA release.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or a related field of study and 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The Company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or a related field of study.

Work Experience:

Position requires prior experience, internship or academic coursework to include each of the following:

• Drive requirements for products and apply analytical skills to drive product changes;
• Analyze customer data to develop use cases, features and detailed requirements;
• Programming languages, such as Python, and databases query languages, such as SQL;
• Communicate with engineering teams and business counterparts to understand and articulate technical requirements;
• Support product design and development and design product KPIs;
• Coordinate software product planning and development, customer interviews and UI/UX design with local and global cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers and content developers; and
• Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables and presentation skills with PowerPoint.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $135,408 - $150,390. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $135,408 - $167,100. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
