SAP Intelligent Enterprise Solutions (IES) organization has the purpose to “Deliver and Run the Intelligent Enterprise”. IES is SAP’s technology backbone and most compelling reference customer, and as such, we influence SAP product development and strategy, with our customer experience at heart. To support the updated SAP AI Strategy and the company vision on Generative AI, we need to strengthen our team to accelerate delivery of Data & AI Cloud Solutions.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner with an entrepreneurial spirit who is enthusiastic and passionate about technology, fascinated by its unlimited possibilities to strengthen our Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data team.

As a product owner, you will join the Digital Assistant agile team and work closely with other product managers/product owners, scrum masters/release train engineers, AI/data scientists, data engineers, AI developers and students/interns/fellows. You will lead and drive the SAP’s internal Digital Assistant solution improvement as well as cross-team initiatives. You will play a key role to overall team’s success. You will present our team and solutions to stakeholders and act as team ambassador.

What You'll Do

• As part of the Digital Assistant agile team, play the face and the interface to other entities and units within the organization and stakeholders.

• Engage with security and AI Ethics/ DPP/ Legal/ Works Council teams to ensure the compliance of SAP’s internal Digital Assistant solution.

• Conduct quarterly planning to plan and prioritize diverse improvement initiatives.

• Collect business requirements from various stakeholders to build and operate Digital Assistant capabilities and chatbots and translate them into detailed backlog stories with technical specifications for development teams.

• Evaluate AI capability map and collect platform requirements on continuous basis.

• Contribute to team’s winning plan, present success story in Quarterly Business Review and report success back to higher level of organization.

• Plans, facilitate and lead workshops.

• Educate customers and stakeholders about AI/ML.

• Collaborate with other product organization to improve SAP’s digital assistant “Joule” by acting as early adopter and providing feedback/requirements.

What You'll Bring

You have a proven track record as a product owner and customer advocate. You bring a can-do attitude and positive mindset. You are a team player, have a sharp business acumen and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and develop strong relationships. You can manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business informatics, computer science, engineering or related technical fields.

• At least 2 years of work experience as a product owner or software architect.

• Work experience as a software developer in an Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language.

• Solid understanding of cloud technologies/ frameworks such as Jupyter, Docker, Kubernetes, Github.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills in English incl. ability to communicate complex concepts in simple form to non-technical audience.

• Proficiency in articulating overarching business needs and transforming them into detailed backlog stories with technical specifications for development teams.

• Experience in creating solution/enterprise architecture e.g. using TAM language.

• Basic experience in developing/setting up chatbots or other conversational AI solutions.

• Basic understanding of Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models will be considered a plus.
