What you'll do

SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, aspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure.

SAP will be working on the public funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Operating System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should take the chance and apply!

In this role you will:

• Design and develop Application Programming Interface driven Compute services powered by OpenStack and Kubernetes
• Code primarily in Python or Golang and contribute to different, well-known upstream open-source projects and help maintain our own open-source initiatives
• Be given the opportunities to further your knowledge and delve into complex problems to develop solid and complete solutions

What you bring

• Degree in Applied Sciences, preferably in Computer Science
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or OpenStack
• Experience with open source virtualization technologies, e.g. Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM)
• Track record of software development preferably with Golang or Python
• Preferably experience working with Kubernetes and related cloud native technologies
• Experience with agile practices and CI/CD driven development
• Very good English skills written and spoken
• +3 years of professional experience
