The Role

At SellerX we are growing our Data Engineering Department and now we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (x/f/m) to join our team!

The ideal candidate will have several years of relevant professional experience, a proactive approach and strong communication skills. We use AWS and Kubernetes as our main computation platform, therefore the candidate should be familiar with AWS, a certification would be advantageous. An in-depth knowledge of containerization (Docker, docker-compose), container orchestration (Kubernetes) and related technologies is a requirement. The candidate should have extensive experience with the Linux platform and Bash; familiarity with an additional scripting language like Python or PHP is a bonus. Familiarity with data warehouse environment like Snowflake or Redshift would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage AWS cloud resources efficiently.
• Build, maintain, and enhance a self-hosted Kubernetes ecosystem for our services.
• Develop and extend Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
• Establish robust monitoring, alerting, and log management systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Write comprehensive documentation, design documents, and RFCs.
• Implement security best practices across infrastructure, applications, and deployment processes, including vulnerability assessments and compliance checks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and the Business IT team, to seamlessly integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle.

Your Profile:

• Several years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role, showcasing a strong background in infrastructure and deployment automation.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.
• Expertise in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Github Actions.
• In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration systems (Kubernetes) and related technologies.
• Experience with on-premise/self-hosting environments.
• Thorough understanding of security best practices and hands-on experience implementing security measures within DevOps processes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Good understanding of fundamental networking concepts (OSI framework, DNS, DHCP).
• Strong grasp of AWS network concepts (VPC, security group).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in the European timezones.
