We seek a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our Rail Infrastructure business unit at Siemens. In this role, you will support our team by building software and defining how tools get deployed and in what format. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our software meets customer needs and performs optimally for our railroad dispatch system while being an advocate for continuous improvement and automation.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Develop and maintain software solutions to support the railroad dispatch system. Experience with monitoring and logging, as well as familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Azure Monitor, is beneficial!
  • Define and implement deployment strategies for various tools and applications. Applying your experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for configuration management is preferred.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software deployment and performance.
  • Ensure alignment to standard processes for AWS cloud and container security.
  • Your understanding of managing microservices architecture and database management (Cockroach or EDB) will set you apart!

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Azure: Experience with Azure services (AKS, Azure DevOps, ARM templates, Azure CLI). Certifications (CKA, DCA) preferred.
  • Kubernetes: Proficient in deployment, management, and troubleshooting of applications.
  • Docker: Skilled in creating and managing Docker images and containers.
  • GitLab CI: Experience in creating and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Python: Strong scripting and automation skills.
  • Git: Proficient with version control and branching strategies.
  • Networking: Understanding of cloud networking concepts and security.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Agile Environment: Experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Polarion.

This career is based in Jacksonville, FL. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees, including PTO, 401k match, and tuition reimbursement. The base salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL, is $100,100 - $135,100. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
