This is your role. What part will you play?

This is Product Business development role for Low Voltage Control Products within Siemens Smart Infrastructure operating company, Electrical Products business unit. This role will be focusing on portfolio strategy, product roadmaps, new product introductions, pricing and overall product lifecycle management.

Job Description
Responsible to monitor and analyze Sales, Margins & Profitability of the above products
Product portfolio strategy, defining product roadmap and driving the same with Sales, R&D, Factory and PRM
Launching new products, guiding through the product lifecycle management from introduction to obsolescence
Deciding pricing strategy for various product lines; managing cannibalization
Define product positioning and product benchmarking strategy
Develop and implement business plans that highlight competitive landscape and customer needs
Identify product gaps and strategize to introduce new products
Development of measures and tools to facilitate product business development
Aiding selections and benefits with Type 2 co-ordinations
Maintain Technical / commercial Database for existing products including price definition in SAP, technical data in server, Online Technical support etc.
Create and maintain sales support tools like
o Product Presentations
o Assured Motor Protection Software (AMPS)
o Simulation Tool for Soft Starters (STS)
o Product Writeups
o Demo cases for sales offices
o Competitor comparison (technical & price)
o Winning Guides
o Webinars
Enhance knowledge of Sales & Service colleagues by conducting periodic training programs and competency enhancement programs
This is a cross-functional role that will involve regular coordination with many functions involving HQ, Segment, PRM, Factory, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Finance, Quality, Customer Service, Channel partners
o Interact with HQ/ PRM/ R&D for product management and technical topics.
o Interface with factory for manufacturing plan, new product ramp-up etc.
o Interact with R&D and PRM for various PLM topics of new development, initiate / guide cost optimization projects for existing variants.
o Interact with Sales Business Excellence to formulate product stimulation schemes, channel policy inputs etc.
o Interact with Channel Partners to gather feedback on market and market trends.
o Initiate discussion with Customer Service & Quality for customer complaint resolution and Root Cause analysis
Evaluate Market size, growth rate etc. based on inputs from market and IEEMA
Manage all aspects of products including technical, quality, after sales support, availability etc.
Regular visits to key customers across India to gain insights on product gaps, technology trends, customer buying behavior etc.
Who Qualify for this job?
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably B.E Electrical/Electronics) with min. 10+ years of experience in Low Voltage Switchgears Marketing or Sales
Knowledge of Control gear portfolio is a must. Know-how on systems e.g., switchboards, product standards is preferred
Experience in product management/ business development will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication skills - verbal / non-verbal
Strong data analysis, problem solving, and presentation skills.
Ability to multitask and manage business development activities as per defined schedule.
Market knowledge and experience in application-based product selection, offer technical optimization, understanding Single line diagrams/ control-circuits etc. is preferred.
Excellent working knowledge with IT tools (excel, powerpoint, PowerBI etc.)
Strategic & creative thinking, result, and quality-oriented approach
Team player
Customer focused.
Basic commercial knowledge is mandatory
