We challenge the status quo while having fun – "Never Stop Playing".Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers; foster collaboration and collective ownership.- Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs (gRPC and REST) for core insurance services.- Own end-to-end delivery of microservices from requirements to operations.- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and cross-functional teams on scalable solutions.- Establish best practices: code reviews, automated testing, observability, CI/CD.- Conduct 1:1s, provide feedback, support career growth.- Prioritize and reduce technical debt; improve architecture and workflows.- Ensure compliance with security, standards, and regulatory requirements.- Monitor and optimize reliability, performance, and cost in production.Bring to the Team:- Strong backend background with production Golang.- Experience leading/mentoring engineering teams.- Track record with gRPC/REST APIs at scale; distributed systems and cloud-native patterns.- Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps workflows; familiarity with PostgreSQL and message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).- Strong problem-solving and communication in a fast-paced, agile environment.What We Offer (selection): Flexible benefits (Deutschlandticket or internet subsidy), hybrid work and up to 25 days working-from-abroad, 28 vacation days + Christmas/New Year’s Eve off, Allianz shares, sabbatical after 1 year, Degreed L&D platform, referral program, JobRad, regular events, open feedback culture, central Berlin HQ.
