Location – Remote

Mainframe Adabas was the flagship product for Software AG. It is well known for its extremely high performance and reliability, with online transaction processing and is used to run customer’s business and company-critical applications. Even after more than 50 years, Software AG Adabas continues to develop and adapt to new industry standards, business methods and technologies.

The Mainframe Adabas family of products has a diverse portfolio. Support for cluster and high availability technology, IBM’s SYPLEX Technology and zIIP are key extensions to the DBMS. Additional add-on products include Replication, Monitoring, Network, various optimizations, and support for large memory.

For this position we are looking for an experienced and motivated senior software developer who can actively support existing products and be a part of building new solutions to needed to move customers into their future.

About you

Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of knowledge and experience with IBM z/OS technology (architecture, software and utilities)

  • 4+ years’ experience in the development of software using with S/390 Assembler

  • Useful to have experience with such technologies as zIIP, zEDC

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Network Communication concepts and architecture, and Protocol experience (e.g. TCP/IP, CTCA, FCTC, XCF, VTAM)

  • Comprehensive testing to attain high level of quality.

  • Experience as a Mainframe Network System programmer or network administrator responsible for the configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of a network issue.

  • Excellent time-management skills, and the ability to manage complexities and competing priorities.

  • Good judgement and strong analytical, problem-solving skills

  • Very good Interpersonal/communication skills and experience coordinating information and activities among groups with differing agendas, across different regional areas.

  • Sound writing skills using various styles to address a wide range of needs and audiences.

  • Active participant in contributing creative and innovative ideas for product and features enhancements.

  • Self-motivated, self-developing and learning mindset.
