To guarantee customers a long-term planning perspective Software AG started the A&N 2050+ Initiative. One pillar of the A&N 2050+ Initiative is to support our customers on their journey to a modern IT platform and infrastructure running in the Cloud, in order to meet present and future business requirements. We enable customers to move their valuable A&N applications to the cloud provider of their choice and to operate and integrate their applications in a hybrid cloud environment.

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Senior Architect* to join our A&N Business unit to shape together with us the future of our customers.

YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• As a member of the A&N Business unit you will be responsible for technical customer engagements at Adabas & Natural customers worldwide

• Together with local sales and presales teams you

  • discover the customer’s business initiatives, especially in the context of cloud migrations and hybrid cloud environments

  • lead deep technical architecture discussions with senior customer executives, enterprise architects, IT management and developers

  • collaborate with a variety of internal and external teams, to develop pilots, oversee implementation and ensure technical blockers are removed

  • design a solution architecture in collaboration with the customer using the capabilities of the whole Software AG product portfolio

  • leverage your expertise in cloud infrastructure solutions to ensure performance efficiency, security, operational excellence, reliability, and cost optimization

  • present Software AG products and new innovations to customers, internal and external audiences, including large international events

• Maintain technical skills and knowledge of market trends and cloud innovations, and support keeping A&N cloud architecture blueprints for our customers up to date

• Manage the technical relationship to hyperscalers

  • Technical responsibility for a defined set of hyperscalers

  • Enable hyperscalers staff on how to run A&N workload in their cloud

  • Support the process to maintain a marketplace presence (technical aspects)

  • Test new products and new product capabilities in the context of the supported hyperscalers

  • Build expertise on further hyperscalers

• Develop cross-product architectures

• Manage the activities around cloud readiness and the corresponding blueprints

  • Present all aspects of cloud readiness to customers, hyperscalers, Sales, Presales, Support and Professional Services

  • Be the A&N cloud contact for other Software AG organizational units

  • Report issues back to R&D and provide input to R&D to solve cloud issues

  • Provide input for product documentation

  • Provide input to Product Management for roadmap planning and key requirements

YOUR PROFILE

• You have graduated in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or suitable experience to compensate

• You have many years of professional experience

• You have multiple years of technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and management of cloud infrastructure solutions (e.g. Windows and Linux IaaS, Storage, Networking, containers, cloud-native application development and architectures, DevOps)

• Experience and understanding of large-scale application portfolios in enterprise environments (including migration of onpremises workloads to the cloud)

• Ideally you already have experience in the Adabas & Natural product portfolio, including our webMethods Integration capabilities

• You have the ability to create solution architectures according to the customer’s requirements that include the whole Software AG product and service portfolio

• You have the professional skills to instruct and coach internal / external staff members

• You have presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with large and small audiences

• You are motivated to work in the A&N environment

• You are motivated to work globally

• You persuade by a broad technical and social competence, distinctive customer orientation and sophisticated skills in communication and presentation

• Self-evident for you is, working self-reliant, the ability to work in an international team, flexibility and a high proficiency in German and English
