Tasks & Responsibilities

• Close cooperation with teams in Germany and USA
• All tasks according to the full software development life cycle
• Analyse, Design and Develop product features
• Product maintenance
• Participating in feature / design / architecture work
• Participating in code, test and documentation work & reviews
• Testing & test-automation work
• Setup and maintain build, installation and promotion process
• Representing product to internal customers like Sales, Professional Service, Global Support
• Support Global Support in case of customer defects and escalations
• Participating in training work, provide training material

Skills

Required:

• Expert knowledge in programming languages like C, C++, Java
• Independent in problem analysis and resolution.
• Experience in system programming such as firmware and Linux kernel.
• Experience in scripting languages like shell scripts, perl or similar
• Knowledge about job control systems like Jenkins and GitHub actions
• Experience in Eclipse based or visual studio code development environments
• Experience in developing enterprise standard software with high quality/performance
• Operating systems knowhow: Windows and Linux
• Good communication skill
• Comprehensive skills in verbal and written communication in English to be member of an international development team
• Open minded team player and able to provide guidance and training to others.

Advantageous:

• Intermediate product knowhow about Adabas and Natural
• Intermediate knowledge on data format (e.g. json, xml)
• Intermediate knowledge on Cloud technologies (e.g. Docker, Azure)

Preferred (but not essential in all topics):

• Knowledge about source management systems e.g. GitHub
• Experience to lean and agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, …)
• Exposure to different operating systems and tools
• Debugging and Diagnosing skills
