Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior COBOL Developer with strong expertise in developing and maintaining mission-critical, enterprise-grade applications on IBM z/OS Mainframe systems. The successful candidate will have deep experience working with online applications under CICS, as well as a proven track record in performance optimization within high-volume environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mission-critical, enterprise-grade COBOL online applications under CICS that interact with VSAM datasets and Db2 databases.
• Analyze and improve complex mainframe programs, with a focus on functionality, efficient data access and throughput.
• Create and optimize SQL queries and access paths for Db2 to support high-performance transactions and online processing.
• Collaborate with system architects, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Support and troubleshoot production issues related to data access, functionality, performance, and online execution.
• Document technical designs, workflows, and system configurations.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing COBOL applications on IBM z/OS Mainframe.
• Strong expertise in online applications under CICS
• Strong expertise with VSAM (KSDS, ESDS, RRDS) and Db2 (SQL, DCLGEN, BIND/REBIND).
• Familiarity with tools such as File-AID, IBM Debug Tool/Expeditor, Endevor, and SPUFI/DSNTEP2.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
