Job Posting: Senior Director Product Manager Data Integration

About the Role

Software AG customers, large enterprises and government organizations around the world, have developed business-critical applications based on high-transaction processing enterprise databases. In order to bring these data assets into the future, it is a key objective to integrate these systems with modern AI platforms, data analytics systems (e.g., data lake) and new frontend apps (e.g., SaaS).

For this purpose, we are looking for an experienced and visionary Senior Director Product Manager that will drive and lead the evolution of our CONNX product into an intelligent data integration platform seamlessly connecting into the world of AI. The key objective is to grow and scale the product within the existing global install-base and among new customers with a strong focus on integrating enterprise databases with AI platforms (agents, agentic workflows, MCP etc’).

This job requires a high level of technical credibility, a customer-centric mindset and a passion for making a new product successful within a high collaborative environment.

Essential Functions

  • Full ownership of all product management tasks within the context of an international B2B software vendor working with mission-critical databases
  • Drive business growth by expanding and evolving the data integration product across the global install-base, supporting business development, strengthening sales execution, and working with a scalable partner ecosystem to acquire new customers and opportunities.
  • Engage with customers globally within a multi-stakeholder environment (e.g., sales, marketing, pre-sales, professional services, partners).
  • Collect, review and manage customer requirements/feedback and translate them into ranked feature backlogs by decomposing complex problems into smaller manageable tasks.
  • Manage the full product life cycle including strategy, product launch, release/roadmap planning, agile methodologies, delivery, pricing, technology partnerships and product validation (e.g., MVP, customer co-innovation).
  • Lead global Proof of Values (PoV) with customers and partners to validate the product capabilities, use cases and value propositions.
  • Create content and market awareness through multiple channels (e.g., Webinars, events, social media, Blogs, communities/user groups, product demo) working closely with marketing.
  • Enable and coordinate with internal stakeholders, e.g., sales, pre-sales, marketing, professional services, R&D, support, business operations, legal.
  • Observe and fully understand relevant data integration market trends and the competitive landscape with a focus on AI data integration including data access, semantics, governance, security, and AI agent connectivity (e.g., MCP).

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree.
  • 7+ years of product management experience working at an international B2B software vendor, ideally with enterprise-grade data integration platforms.
  • Proven expertise in integrating enterprise databases (SQL, non-relational, On-premises) with AI platforms and corresponding technologies/architecture (e.g., MCP, agentic frameworks, RAG, LLM, MLOps).
  • Longstanding experience in working with large-scale data integration technologies and modern data platform architecture (e.g., MCP, Data Lake/-house, NoSQL, Kafka, ETL/ELT, Data Pipelines, SQL, Data Virtualization, API) across a variety of database platforms (mainframe, Linux, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, etc.)
  • A solid data integration market and vendor landscape understanding and a proven track record to a grow product business within a competitive environment.
  • Proven ability to manage the full life cycle and processes of an enterprise-class software product.
  • Customer-focused mindset: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset to structure and solve complex tasks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) in English to convey technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a highly agile environment with globally distributed teams.
  • Experience in enabling and mentoring stakeholders.
  • Self-learning and self-driving attitude delivering results according to goals and measurements.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with R&D, effectively set priorities, manage tasks, and establish clear acceptance criteria to drive success.
  • Proven experience in working with product management related tools for roadmap planning, requirement/feature management, collaboration, presentation, etc. (e.g., Aha!, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, Microsoft 365)
  • Occasional international travel is required (less than 20%).

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $160,000.

This position is also eligible for a 15% discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents and award agreements.
